Shipping to Canada

Welcome Canadian Customers!

It’s important to make sure you have all the required information you need before placing your international order. I put together this quick shipping guide so you’re not surprised by any potential fees, taxes, and other Canadian government import requirements. This is based on data as of May 2021.

Duties and Taxes

Goods and Services Tax:

There are 3 kinds of duties and taxes for items being imported into Canada:

  1. Goods and Services Tax (GST): This is a 5% federal tax that applies to items being sold to Canadian customers for domestic consumption.
  2. Harmonized Tax (HST): A handful of Canadian provinces have opted to harmonize their provincial sales tax with the general sales tax and the total rate is known as Harmonized Tax.
  3. Provincial Sales Tax (PST): Provinces that do not participate in the HST collection process impose their own taxes at the local level. The tax rate varies by province and can range from 5% to 9.75%.

Drop Off With USPS

I provide initial shipping through the United States Postal Service (USPS). The cost to you is a flat rate of $20 USD for both shipping and handling (up to 4 lbs.). The class is USPS First-Class Package International Service. Initial shipping begins in Maryland, USA. When dropping off your shipment, I obtain a tracking number which is then entered into your ‘My Account’ area. This allows you visibility into the entire shipping process.

Expected Delivery Times

You can expect to receive your delivery within 22 business days. This includes 2 business days to make your purchase and another 20 days for you to receive it. If for any reason you have not received your purchase within 22 days, please contact USPS using your tracking number by clicking here.

Canadian Specific Costs

The following may be additional charges the Canadian government or your province charges* you before your package is delivered. Spiked Beauty Co. does not charge you for these. I have no control over these charges. You will pay these directly to the government entity that contacts you.

Along with duties and taxes, you may also need to pay tariffs. Tariffs depend on the country of manufacture, not the country from where the product is purchased. NAFTA eliminates tariffs on all goods that are manufactured in the U.S. and shipped to Canada. However, if your purchase includes components that were manufactured outside the U.S., then you will need to pay tariffs on those components. Spiked Beauty Co. obtains some product packaging from outside of the U.S.
